After weeks and weeks of work we finally pulled it off. All of the students and course leaders from FDA Fashion were thrilled with how the exhibition went. It was a struggle at the start. In particular the 3d mapping. We had some trouble fighting over floor space and then the inevitable light levels effecting the projections. However they looked fantastic when it counted. For the final show at 7:30 the place was packed. Everyone seemed mesmerized with the 3D mapping and very impressed with the efforts gone into the exhibition. Not a bad way to spend an evening. We even got asked to help out with the show for next year. Watch this space.

Seems we’ll have to scrap the idea of projecting onto the windows. We can’t get enough coverage of the windows with the projectors we have available to us.  I designed a window cover which i feel with suit the look of the exhibition just fine.

The girls from fashion decided they didn’t like where we were going with the original idea. They suggested we shoot the models jumping on a trampoline. We really liked this idea and have been working on the idea since then. We want the models to jump into the shot in slow motion. Steph managed to put together a little test…

For the final piece we imagine the look of to resemble the look of Calvin Klein commercial.

We’re still working towards shooting a film for the first year FDA Fashion collection. The idea has been story boarded for a while now. The other day we finally went along to the location to try and figure out how we would actually shoot the film. Managed to put together a little test, using a few of the fashion students as the characters. Looks promising, fingers crossed we can get hold of some actors now.

We managed to finally get our box made up (cheers Elliot mate) and 3d mapping tested. Pretty simple stuff.

I put together a first edit of the footage we have so far. Not all the girls turned up, and we are currently trying to reschedule to get it all finished by the time of the show in June. The idea for the interviews is to have them playing on a loop, acting as an installation piece giving the audience an idea of what the designers are all about whilst they’re browsing through the clothes rack below.

So we went along to Hamptons to document the fund raiser one of the FDA Fashion students had put on. Filming wise it wasn’t very successful. As the night got darker the light levels dropped far too low for anything to be shot. We arrived at 7 in the afternoon and shot all through the night, finishing around midnight. Had a little look at the some of the footage captured and put a little edit together to show how low the light was.
